We will train you to teach a six-week structured programme, developed for Key Stages 1 and 2. The programme explores a variety of themes; included in the structure are creative mindful activities, videos, meditations, personal reflections and discussion.
On completion of this programme, children will be equipped with life skills that will encourage them to develop self-awareness and emotional intelligence, thus better able to deal with the difficulties that they may experience.
The children’s programme content includes:
These will develop children’s awareness of thought patterns, awareness of emotions and of body sensations, being kind to self and others and will equip the children with the tools to observe what is happening in the present moment.
These include mindful movement, yoga, mindfulness of sound, mindfulness of senses, mindful coping strategies and ‘kindfulness’.
Children have the opportunity to undertake verbal and written reflections, which enhances awareness of thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations, thus developing a more concrete understanding of habitual behaviour.

Adopting a Whole-School Approach
In an ideal world every primary teacher would be trained to deliver mindfulness, however, in order to deliver a whole-school approach with limited funds and time restrictions and ensuring minimum disruption to classes, we recommend the following teaching model:
Recommendation for one-form entry school:

Key Stage Two – two BeeMindful trained teachers
Recommendation for two-form entry school:

Key Stage Two – four BeeMindful trained teachers
Recommendation for three-form entry school:
Key Stage One – three BeeMindful trained teachers
Key Stage Two – six BeeMindful trained teachers
This model enables the Beemindful teacher to deliver the programme to two classes, (their own class and a partnered class), during individually timetabled one-hour PSHE sessions. This frees up the partnered class teacher to cover the Beemindful teacher’s class during this session.
